ALAPADO CHALLENGES EMIR OF ILORIN TO COURT OVER ALLEGATION OF CRIME

PRESSS RELEASE

ALAPADO CHALLENGES EMIR OF ILORIN TO COURT OVER ALLEGATION OF CRIME

Federal Government allows traditional ruling institution 5% of monthly federal allocation through the local government from the federation account.
As a traditional ruler of Apado Land, Alapado Oba Titus Suberu Ajibola of Ilorin East LGA, Kwara State has been denied his statutory monthly entitlements over a year ago. However, it is now a crime to ask for ones right according to the rule of law as the Emir and an agent of police, State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Kwara State Headquarters, recently served him a letter of invitation and expects him to appear on Monday 5 December, 2016 under the cover-up of Security Meeting of which they have hidden agenda to malign his personality and office.
This has become an aged long traditional injustice perpetrating by the Emir in connivance with police in the state. This similar development happened to a prominent ruler in Moro LGA, Kwara State some years ago; the innocent chief was invited to the police station and later detained for almost 19 days in the custody for security meeting! Injustice! But Alapado wouldn’t wait for such fate to befall him since there is rule of law, except otherwise. He is a traditional ruler and so is Emir, and if there is any misunderstanding, the best thing to do is to litigate and settle the dust at the court of justice not at the police state. So we stop using public institutions sensitive like police to perpetrate crime, injustice, inhumanity and insecurity!
Many times, the marginalized Yoruba traditional rulers have sent petitions to the concerned bodies in the state but they remained nonchalant over this open injustice from a quarter. We are crying out loud again to the general public of human right activists, government and Yoruba sons and daughters in Kwara, Nigeria and around the globe to help us against this tactical neo-colonization. Apado Land is an autonomous ancient settlement under the rulership of Alapado, Oba Titus Suberu Ajibola. We need freedom and justice in our land.
Thanks.
